Take a look at the Departments in the College of Human Sciences; who we are and the opportunities we can provide for you. We are the professors who strive to stimulate intellectual curiosity in students and a passion for lifelong learning. In our role as mentors, we promote the personal and professional development of each and every student. We are researchers studying interconnecting variables affecting human health and well-being. Business, industry, and government partner with us to provide consumers with safe, quality products and services. As outreach specialists, we develop programs for children and youth, teaching the vital social skills necessary for positive interactions with others. We are professionals helping people build more satisfying home and work relationships and environments. We are catalysts opening doors to a world of opportunities.
In our Departments, you will pursue an exciting curriculum brought to life by dynamic professors in a close-knit community of faculty and students who care about you and your future. In cities as near as Birmingham or Atlanta, or as far as New York or Paris, you will benefit from life-changing internship experiences that go beyond the classroom. Equally important, opportunities abound to participate in leading-edge research with internationally recognized scholars. Indeed, you will become part of a culture where science and social responsibility come together as we work together to make the world a better place. As you can see, limited horizons have no place in student or faculty thinking in the College. We invite you now to take a more detailed look at our teaching, research, and outreach programs in the Departments of Consumer Affairs, Human Development and Family Studies, and Nutrition and Food Science.
Join us in being part of this important work.
