Watch as the construction of the Barbara Drummond Thorne Academic and Research Facility takes place. As the future home to the College of Human Sciences, this new facilty will be a four-story, 138,000-square-foot building located at the northeast corner of Mell Street and Roosevelt Drive. It will house teaching spaces, faculty research facilities, laboratories, classrooms, offices and common areas.

Dr. Meghan Orman, who comes to the College of Human Sciences and the Auburn University Early Learning Center (AUELC) to serve as the new director, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help lead a program that is celebrating 100 years of shaping young lives and positively impacting families. What began as a first-time visit to determine where to enroll their son for preschool ultimately led to three more of their children attending the Auburn University Early Learning Center (AUELC) in the College of Human Sciences, the establishment of an endowed fund, and a lasting impact on the Schmidt family's lives.
Auburn interior design senior Lucy Folmar turned two empty rooms inside the new Concourse Hall into showrooms designed with future freshmen in mind. The owner of Living Well Design is using what she's learned in the classroom and through her growing business to help Auburn students feel at home from the moment they arrive.
