Watch as the construction of the Barbara Drummond Thorne Academic and Research Facility takes place. As the future home to the College of Human Sciences, this new facilty will be a four-story, 138,000-square-foot building located at the northeast corner of Mell Street and Roosevelt Drive. In line with its vision to be recognized as the nation's leading hospitality management program, Head of the Horst Schulze School of Hospitality Management in the College of Human Sciences Dr. Martin O'Neill was recently honored on a national scale earning the ICHRIE McCool Breakthrough Award on Friday, July 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Auburn University's Military REACH is playing a key role in the 2026 Military Family Readiness Academy this August through its ongoing work with OneOp, a federally funded professional development platform for military family service providers. This year's four-week virtual series, “Building Strong Communities for Military Family Readiness,” runs on consecutive Wednesdays throughout August and is open at no cost to extension professionals, service providers, community leaders, and all who support military families.
What began as a sewing hobby early in life that flourished into taking a leap of faith to pursue a degree in Apparel Design and Production Management (APDP) at Auburn University has ultimately led Jordan Hobbs to represent the College of Human Sciences as the Graduation Marshal for the Summer 2026 commencement exercises on Saturday, Aug. 8.
