My primary responsibility as a lecturer is instruction; however I minor research interests in three areas. I am particularly interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning and using the findings from this field to enhance students’ experiences in the classroom. I am also interested in understanding the processes that underlie the stigma toward persons with disabilities that can lead to discrimination in employment settings. Hopefully, an understanding of these processes can lead to a reduction in discriminatory practices. Finally, I have recently gained a curiosity in post-emancipation sociological and anthropological studies and how understanding one's familial past can lead to positive outcomes for one's future.
