Dr. Vazsonyi's research program can be best characterized as the systematic, comparative study of human development. More specifically, he is interested in the comparative study of child, youth, and adolescent development as well as associated developmental outcomes. A large portion of his work has focused on the etiology of adolescent problem behaviors, deviance, and violence. It is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing from the traditions of human development and family studies, criminology and studies of adolescent deviance, psychology and studies of individual differences, and public health or an epidemiological approach.
