Nutrition/Dietetics

     Nutrition is a science concerned with human physiology, biochemistry, and their relationship to human health and well-being. Professionals in nutrition conduct research and provide education and/or counseling to a variety of audiences in many different settings, including medical centers and hospitals, extended care facilities, schools, public health agencies, and health clubs. Graduates of the Nutrition/Dietetics emphasis are eligible to apply for an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved dietetic internship and, following its successful completion, to take the national registration examination to become a Registered Dietitian (R.D.).

Nutrition Science

     Graduates of the Nutrition Science option are eligible to apply for admission to medical, physical therapy, and other health professional schools. The Nutrition Science emphasis is also excellent preparation for graduate school.
