My long awaited Italia!
For years, dare I say my entire life, I have had an inner desire to travel the world. In a smaller sense, since I have arrived at Auburn University and recognized there was a program to study that allowed students to live in Italy, I made sure one day I would be a participant. After looking forward and anticipating this experience for such a long time my expectations have not been disappointed in the least! I imagined Italy to be this passionate, romantic and eternal country full of meaning and inspiration. The moment my foot hit Italian soil I truly knew my thoughts were accurate. The Italian people are passionate, always expressing their feelings with dramatic hand gestures, the tones of their voices, and the very way they live their lives. The country is romantic simply because of its earthly beauty and the history that lies in the air. Being a designer, the passion and romanticism is almost overwhelming because of the inspiration and drive it lights under me. I now want to create something equally as beautiful and meaningful as Italy, even if it is just a dress or a blouse. I am inspired throughout everyday; morning, noon and night. The mornings are filled with fresh cool air and an unusual calmness leaving my mind clarified. The days are bright and filled with hustle and bustle making me ponder the different ways of life. The nights are filled with mystery and charm leaving my heart content. Yes, I am inspired most everywhere I go, but being in Ariccia somewhere that is so different and so far away, I am able to see things from another perspective. This to me is what sets someone apart, as a professional or as a student. Different perspective. I am so grateful to be here, and I fully intend to make every moment count. Allora, Arrivederci America e Ciao Italia!
