Why Should I Join the CHS@AU Women’s Philanthropy Board?
By becoming a member of the CHS@AU Women's Philanthropy Board, you will join a group of dynamic women who are committed to supporting CHS@AU in its instructional, research, outreach and international initiatives, and who want to:
Collaborate with other women to maximize our effectiveness in meeting collective goals
Connect women of all ages to establish professional networks and personal friendships
Create opportunities to develop and recognize women as leaders and role models
Change lives through education, leadership and philanthropy

What are the WPB Member benefits?
As a WPB member, you make a difference in the educational, philanthropic, and mentoring goals of the College of Human Sciences Women’s Philanthropy Board by practicing individual and collective philanthropy. WPB Membership benefits include:
Receiving pertinent information regarding WPB educational programs
Recognition as a member in event programs and literature
The WPB Newsletter that includes announcements of educational programs, special events and other important information
Recognition on the Women’s Philanthropy Board wall located in the College of Human Sciences
Opportunities to interact with WPB members at recruiting events
Serving as mentors for future generations of philanthropists
How can I become a member of the Women's Philanthropy Board?
The Women’s Philanthropy Board of the College of Human Sciences is composed of female alumni, faculty, and friends. Membership is open to any woman who seeks to broaden her knowledge about finances and to learn about how to fulfill her philanthropic potential so as to maximize her opportunities to effect change in the world. Membership is available to any women who wants to become involved in the WPB.
Benefactors pledge a minimum of $1,000 per year for five years ($5,000 total pledge) and provide leadership for the governance of the organization. Benefactors are eligible to vote, hold a position on the WPB Executive Committee, chair and serve on committees, and participate in all WPB functions. Associates pledge $500 per year for five years ($2,500 total pledge). Associate memberships are available to women age 30 and younger. Click here to join as a WPB Associate member.
WPB Mentees affiliate with the Women’s Philanthropy Board while they are students in the College of Human Sciences. There is no fee to affiliate as a WPB Mentee. In order to be recognized as a WPB Mentee, one must register with the Women’s Philanthropy Board office in the College of Human Sciences. WPB Legacy Members: This special membership level emphasizes the vital importance of planned gifts which provide future income for the board. To be recognized as a WPB Legacy member, please notify that you have included the Women’s Philanthropy Board in your will or estate plans. Your commitment as a WPB Legacy member might also qualify you to become a member of the university’s George Petrie Society.
