Watch as the construction of the Barbara Drummond Thorne Academic and Research Facility takes place. As the future home to the College of Human Sciences, this new facilty will be a four-story, 138,000-square-foot building located at the northeast corner of Mell Street and Roosevelt Drive. What began as a first-time visit to determine where to enroll their son for preschool ultimately led to three more of their children attending the Auburn University Early Learning Center (AUELC) in the College of Human Sciences, the establishment of an endowed fund, and a lasting impact on the Schmidt family's lives.
Auburn interior design senior Lucy Folmar turned two empty rooms inside the new Concourse Hall into showrooms designed with future freshmen in mind.
